GROUP LENDING
YOSEFO uses a solidarity group lending methodology which was adopted from
Grameen Bank. This methodology, which helped earn Grameen Bank the 2006
Nobel Peace Prize, has been modified to fit Tanzania. YOSEFO gives loans to
individual Tanzanian entrepreneurs, who organize themselves into 5-person
groups. The groups take primary responsibility for supporting and aiding its
members as they develop their business. Every week, eight groups from a
community (a "center") will come together to repay loan installments and
conduct group business.

INDIVIDUAL LENDING
Following the recent trend in microfinance, YOSEFO has begun offering loans
to individuals, outside of the traditional solidarity group framework. This
service is available for those who have graduated from the maximum group
loan level under the group lending method or those who have businesses and
chattels (collateral).

BENKIJAMII LENDING
Applied in rural areas, clients start their village banks and access the loans from
YOSEFO for the members. Though the banks are owned and managed by the
community, it is supervised by YOSEFO. This serves the purpose of reaching
remote communities in a cost effective way of delivering financial services.

MICROINSURANCE
YOSEFO also offers life and funeral insurance products. This serves to cover
our loan portfolio and helps clients meet the fixed payment associated with
funeral costs.
