Locations

Our organization has its headquarters in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.  We run more than a dozen community banks in and around Dar es Salaam, including in the neighborhoods of Buguruni, Kigamboni, Lumo, Mbgala, Makangarawe, Mazizini, Tabata, Tandika, Vingunguiti, and Vituka.

YOSEFO is continually expanding to serve more clients in more areas of Tanzania.  In 2004, we opened up a branch in Ifakara, and last year we opened up two more branches in Kilwa and Zanzibar.

Our Partners

We have partnered with a variety of organizations for funding and to provide additional services to our clients.  

Jubilee Insurance Ltd. | Provides group life and funeral insurance for YOSEFO clients through Endeavor Insurance Consultants.  All YOSEFO clients are provided with insurance to give their families more economic security and peace of mind.

Plan International | Provides funding for YOSEFO's expansion into new communities through a combination of grants for capacity building and loans.

Stromme East Africa Ltd. | Provide loans primarily for on-lending and capacity building.

MICHE | Financed project-phase of YOSEFO's Ifakara Branch (451 km from Dar). MICHE's primary objective is to support education, and views microfinance as an important component of their efforts.

United States African Development Foundation (USADF) | Provided a grant in 2000 that financed a major expansion of YOSEFO.

Kiva Microfunds | A new partner who raises the funds online from individual lenders around the world on behalf of YOSEFO clients. 

Centre for Microfinance and Entreprise Development (CEMIDE) | Provides business and technical skills training for YOSEFO clients.

Tanzania Association of Microfinance Institutions (TAMFI) | An umbrella organization for microfinance institutions in Tanzania.  YOSEFO's executive director serves on the TAMFI board.
